It fails to download the EXE package:
==> ERROR: Failure while downloading http://download.support.xerox.com/pub/drivers/WC780XI/drivers/win10/ar/WC78XX_5.482.0.0_PPD_English.exe
SHAR256SHUM of the one on Xerox page is correct (75ab5388dfe513732bd05cbaeb47196345ae26886d59c7d96b92749b6de08f9a). Download link also seems to be correct (https://download.support.xerox.com/pub/drivers/WC780XI/drivers/win10/ar/WC78XX_5.482.0.0_PPD_English.exe)
The GET returns 403 (forbidden) as the download page requires an "I agree to the Terms and Conditions" checkbox.
The upstream download link points at the Linux RPM package, but the PKGBUILD actually downloads the Windows one.
Now what?

This package was marked out of date on Apr 14th 2022. The latest version of the Generic PPD driver that this package uses is still at version 5.482.0.0 (https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/product/workcentre-7800-series/content/133581) It is still the latest version. Removing out of date flag.

It seems that the same driver (Date: Mar 8, 2016, version 5.482.0.0, Size: 249.2 KB, Format: EXE) is used for 79xx family. You can add info this to the package description.

Somebody incorrectly marked this package out of date. I guess the confusion comes from a new release of the .deb file: version 5.20.652.4537 from Feb 27, 2019. However, this package is based on the Generic PPD which has not been updated, it is still listed at version 5.482.0.0.

Cool, thanks. I updated the PKGBUILD with the new patches and increased the pkgrel to 2.

I added you as co-maintainer, so you can include the patches.

We have a Xerox Workcentre 7830 at work and this package made it really easy to set up the printer. However, the ppd files provided by Xerox are lacking support for some features. Namely:
Selection of Grayscale/Color printing
Selection of automatic paper tray
I think an option to select grayscale printing is really a must, it's a bit surprising the official Xerox ppd file doesn't have one. The auto paper tray option is merely a convenience.
I have two simple patches for xrx7830.ppd that add these features. Would you be interested in including these patches in this package? The patches should work well for the other 3 ppd files (all 4 ppd files are mostly identical).
