After looking into this package more closely, I am not sure how useful it would be to keep it, even if the source was switched over to upstream's newer main branch.

The codebase seems to target only 15-20+ year old VIA VGA/GPU hardware.

Also, the current Linux kernel tree no longer contains the VIA DRM drivers. They are maintained out-of-tree here.

Mesa also no longer carries the userspace DRI divers for VIA devices (since cca. 2011?). This component is maintained sporadically in this mesa fork repo (last update there was in 2020).

Hello everyone, I currently don't have my Arch laptop, so can't try compiling it, but it looks it's impossible anyway...

Hardfalcon, thanks for the PKGBUILD, introducing a new version of th opensuse driver. I adopted this package, if anyone has any comments, you're welcome

I've created an updated PKGBUILD: Please note that my PKGBUILD automatically updates its $pkgver variable through the pkgver() function. In fact you can try putting an arbitrary string into the pkgver variable in the PKGBUILD, and it will automagically be updated to the latest git version of the package upon executing makepkg.
