The source for this package is signed by the developer with a gnupg key.

If you don't have this key in your user keyring, makepkg will abort.

pgp --search-keys C922784178BFFDB0 can be used to get info about the key

pgp --recv-keys C922784178BFFDB0 will import the key to your user keyring.

Make sure you only import the key, everything else is taken care of by the PKGBUILD through the validpgpkeys array.

Package builds and works with current xorg / mesa versions, although performance is not great.

Work is going on to adapt this to work with xorg server 1.20.x . see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=237632

A git bisect tracked this back to
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=90a545e981267e917b9d698ce07affd69787db87

The quick fix is the "iomem=relaxed" command line parameter, which will be required with the Arch kernels from 4.5 and later.

This driver works fine with the older linux-lts 4.4 kernels, but has a problem with later kernels, where the log ends with:

(EE) SIS(0): Unable to map FB aperture. Invalid argument (22)
(EE) SIS(0): **************************************************
(EE) SIS(0): ERROR:
(EE) SIS(0): SiSMapMem() failed
(EE) SIS(0): END OF MESSAGE
(EE) SIS(0): **************************************************

Something changed between the 4.4 and 4.5 kernels, if anyone wants to track it down, possibly related to libpciaccess.

For a compatible linux-lts 4.4 kernel, see:

https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/l/linux-lts/

Note that this driver does *not* use the kernel/drivers/gpu/drm/sis/sis.ko.gz module, and it is not needed.
