While the repository needs an update, the PKGBUILD can be updated with the new link to GitLab:

The line

source = ('git: //git.xfce.org/bindings/xfce4-vala')

must be replaced by

source = ('git: //gitlab.xfce.org/bindings/xfce4-vala')
