Ok, now Tex gets correctly installed. I've got a 404 error now. Don't know if it's a temporary problem or there's a problem in the PKGBUILD: -> Downloading xforms-1.0.93pre10.tar.gz... --2010-05-26 12:34:27-- http://mirrors.openfountain.cl/savannah/xforms/xforms-1.0.93pre10.tar.gz Resolving mirrors.openfountain.cl... 190.96.70.35 Connecting to mirrors.openfountain.cl|190.96.70.35|:80... connected. No it is a makedependency. Added it yesterday.

Ok, but wouldn't it be better to add TeX as a dependency if it's required?

haawda commented on 2010-05-24 17:10 (UTC)

you need a working tex installation, or if you do not want that, comment out the relevant parts of the PKGBUILD.

Still got errors while compiling: make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/enrico/.aur/xforms/src/xforms-1.0.93pre10' restore=: && backupdir=".am$$" && \ am__cwd=`pwd` && CDPATH="${ZSH_VERSION+.}:" && cd . && \ rm -rf $backupdir && mkdir $backupdir && \ if (/bin/sh /home/enrico/.aur/xforms/src/xforms-1.0.93pre10/config/missing --run makeinfo --version) >/dev/null 2>&1; then \ for f in xforms.info xforms.info-[0-9] xforms.info-[0-9][0-9] xforms.i[0-9] xforms.i[0-9][0-9]; do \ if test -f $f; then mv $f $backupdir; restore=mv; else :; fi; \ done; \ else :; fi && \ cd "$am__cwd"; \ if /bin/sh /home/enrico/.aur/xforms/src/xforms-1.0.93pre10/config/missing --run makeinfo -I . \ -o xforms.info xforms.texi; \ then \ rc=0; \ CDPATH="${ZSH_VERSION+.}:" && cd .; \ else \ rc=$?; \ CDPATH="${ZSH_VERSION+.}:" && cd . && \ $restore $backupdir/* `echo "./xforms.info" | sed 's|[^/]*$||'`; \ fi; \ rm -rf $backupdir; exit $rc TEXINPUTS="../config:$TEXINPUTS" \ MAKEINFO='/bin/sh /home/enrico/.aur/xforms/src/xforms-1.0.93pre10/config/missing --run makeinfo -I .' \ texi2dvi --pdf --batch xforms.texi You don't have a working TeX binary (tex) installed anywhere in your PATH, and texi2dvi cannot proceed without one. If you want to use this script, you'll need to install TeX (if you don't have it) or change your PATH or TEX environment variable (if you do). See the --help output for more details. For information about obtaining TeX, please see http://www.tug.org. If you happen to be using Debian, you can get it with this command: apt-get install tetex-bin make: *** [xforms.pdf] Error 1 ==> ERROR: Build Failed. Aborting... error: xforms failed while building, remove source files from /home/enrico/.aur/xforms? [Y/n] If Tex is a dependency it should be addedd to the PKGBUILD. Thank you

fixed md5sum. But I plan to find a better solution and not to download the pdf anymaore, but to build it using the texinfo sources delivered with the source tarball.
