noob here. I installed this via the manjaro software manager. Seems to have installed fine but I don't know how to actually run it. It created files - /etc/xmrig/xmrig.conf /usr/bin/xmrig /usr/lib/systemd/system/xmrig@.service /usr/lib/sysusers.d/xmrig.conf but I can't actually edit the conf files. Do I need to do that in the terminal with sudo? It won't let me change permissions via right clicking the files.

thanks

---edit---

alright, turns out I can edit the files by right clicking the file and selecting "edit as administrator". So, I did that. When I type in '/usr/bin/xmrig' in the terminal to try and run xmrig it spits out- unable to open "/usr/bin/config.json". -unable to open "/home/me/.xmrig.json". -unable to open "/home/me/.config/xmrig.json". -no valid configuration found, try https://xmrig.com/wizard I tried using sudo as well, didn't work. sorry about the formatting

Hi. Is there a way to limit the amount of CUDA cores used when mining, similar to using the --cpu-max-threads-hint=N switch or similar for the CPU? When I used the --cuda switch it works using the GPU, but then my PC is too slow to use at the same time

If you do use an URL to configure pools, you might want to change the service unit with this:

After=nss-lookup.target

https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd.special.html

May you add a conflicts for xmrig-donateless?

Thanks in advance :)

Probably because the xmrig binary is located in /usr/bin/

[mauro@burner ~]$ which xmrig /usr/bin/xmrig

Any particular reason you used sudo?

I see that there is indeed a template config file in /etc/xmrig/ Hadn't noticed that. Are you asking because you can't get xmrig to work? I think xmrig is written so that you're just expected to call it like this

xmrig --config ~/myConfig.json

Or are you asking because you think the AUR package is doing a poor job? :-)

Is there some reason xmrig is expecting the config file to be located at /usr/bin/config.json?

[el@arch64:/mnt/m2]$ sudo xmrig
[2020-03-08 05:08:01.348] unable to open "/usr/bin/config.json".
[2020-03-08 05:08:01.348] no valid configuration found.

Pacman -Ql xmrig shows:

[el@arch64:/mnt/m2]$ pacman -Ql xmrig
xmrig /etc/
xmrig /etc/xmrig/
xmrig /etc/xmrig/xmrig.conf <----

So why is it not looking for the config file in /etc/xmrig/xmrig.conf ??

And a nice bump in HR from 650 to 678 :-)

Amazing how fast you got this updated!

I just received the notification from GitHub that there was a new version available, but usually AUR has a lag until a new version is available, so, a wonderful surprise to see this already here.
