Hi! It's me again haha

There was a recent finding that some knockoff adapters need a different firmware to work properly. This alternative fw is already supported by upstream driver. Could you add this second firmware to this package?

I don't know why people keep saying to reboot. sudo modprobe xone-dongle should work.

Edit: I guess could need to unload modules first.

If anyone is using Endeavor, the "yay -S xone-dongle-firmware" install and xone-dkms-git you'll need to reboot before it works.

@FrancisMH I suspect you have some local config issue. However, I've added a variable to make skipping license download easier and limited the number of redirects. Did not bump pkgrel because there's no need for anyone to rebuild.

base-devel is a prerequisite to using AUR. It is not added to package (make) depends.

I had to remove the terms of use stuff for the PKGBUILD to work.

I was getting this error.

curl: (47) Maximum (50) redirects followed

You should also add base-devel to the dependencies.

@xiota could you please add yourself as maintainer in the PKGBUILD if you're assuming maintainership?

xiota commented on 2025-01-23 18:15 (UTC) (edited on 2025-01-23 18:16 (UTC) by xiota)

Package needed maintainer action to align to package guidelines. The previous maintainer did not respond to a request for nine months, which is more than long enough to consider the package de facto unmaintained. Previous maintainer also has a long history of ignoring comments (see xone-dkms/-git). A comment from a few months ago notes that his email address was unreachable.

I stated that I was willing to add the previous maintainer as comaintainer. However, he appears to be disinterested since he has recently disowned the xone-dkms packages.

Please only do this if the package needs maintainer action, the maintainer is MIA and you already tried to contact the maintainer previously.

you already tried to contact the maintainer previously

While I agree, the package could have been updated and wasn't in the best state, you didn't do your due diligence as well.

Another user asked the previous maintainer to make changes to align to package guidelines. The request was ignored for a very long time (~9 months), so the orphan request was auto-approved.

I'm not against adding the previous maintainer back as comaintainer, but am less inclined to do so when attacked.

Huh I'd have appreciated an attempt to contact me first before declaring me MIA and immediately approving your own maintainer request.
