To clarify: watching the Git summary page (look for the tags) is a much easier way to track version updates than following the xorg-announce ML ;)

Editres most certainly isn't dead, and I'm shocked to discover that it isn't maintained in one of the main Arch repos anymore. Among other things, xterm's app-defaults file suggests one uses it to navigate the jungle of widget and class names. Editres is being maintained in Git now (any takers for a package?), maybe its summary page is a better candidate for a package URL. editres Git summary: http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/app/editres/ editres 1.0.6 announcement: http://lists.x.org/archives/xorg-announce/2013-January/002120.html

The source URL is dead. Here's a working link: http://xorg.freedesktop.org/releases/individual/app/editres-1.0.5.tar.bz2

I know it's depreciated (used to bi in xorg-resutils), but I'm using gvu and editres comes in handy for editing those ugly default colors. It's a simple way to see all the widget and app settings for Xaw/Motif applications.
