In Pentablet-Driver.desktop
is there any reason for OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Settings;XFCE
and it excluding KDE?
As a KDE user it took me longer than I'd care to admit wondering why it wasn't showing up as an application to launch.

@caelanritter I, too am having this same issue. I cannot persist changes once the settings panel closes. I must keep it open during my entire time using the desired monitor.
I have an xp-pen star g640 tablet. Without this driver, my middle click button does not work. To get it to work, I have to run xp-pen-tablet
as root, which gives me
QStandardPaths: XDG_RUNTIME_DIR not set, defaulting to '/tmp/runtime-root'
It does work after that, but only if I keep the settings dialog box open on my desktop; if I close it, the tablet stops working entirely until I replug it in or open the settings back up.
Is there a way to make it work without having to keep the settings open?
Keep in mind that when I said that, there was no indication they would keep a beta branch available. Now we see they look to be keeping it so no point on merging.
Concerning the merge request: That argument makes no sense to me, when "beta" literally is "a pre-launch of the stable version" and even the source mentions "beta driver"...
Hi Poilrouge, great work with this - thank you! I too prefer to have the driver more integrated and run through the package manager.
Would it be possible to change the package to the latest (non-beta) release - or would that need a new AUR entry as it's out of beta?

Not sure of the convention!
Cheers!
Hi Poilrouge,
I know that your were probably a "simple" user. The remark about the functionalities was also for the "normal" users, just to make them be aware of differences with the "full" version. The request for the name change was just because when Xp-pen will release its final version, your folder name will become obsolete. And in case of changes made into this folder, they will be lost.
I hope the linux drivers will soon be full featured. We really miss pen presure settings.
And, above all, Thanks for your work. It helped me setting up my new xp-pen tablet.
Hey laurentO! Thanks for the heads up on the driver update.
Just to make sure that we're on the same page, I'm just a user, like you, and in not way linked, tied, or affiliated to xp-pen and their product or software. Therefor, I have, to my knowledge, zero capability regarding the driver functionalities or performance.
I just wanted a way to better integrate the driver into my Arch system and share my intall script tweaks via the AUR. Yes, I agree with you regarding the lack functionalities and perfs comparing to the windows the version but, then again, I don't believe I can do anything about it.
As for the package name, I want to respect what I think is the providers intent. Meaning that, as long as xp-pen consider this driver to be a 'beta' so much so to put it in the name of there downloadable archives, I'd rather keep it as is. I've removed the 'beta' from the desktop file and the CLI command link though.
The driver runs well, even if it has less functionalities the windows one. Pen pressure is really low and can not be set by the GUI windows settings.
Could it be possible to remove "-beta-driver" from the installation folder name ?

This is the driver for the new current models of XP-PEN graphics tablets, if you have a legacy model, use this package
