I fixed it. I was using bottles which defaulted to soda instead of sys-wine. Switching it to wine worked, and indeed the laser is detected over wifi.

baltazar: Thanks for the answer. Sorry, I should have been more clear. When I said "not working", I meant after installing, the program doesn't launch at all. I thought maybe some special libraries were needed. I always have a hard time with wine. I'm not an expert.

marceljoseph: well, it won't find it via usb, but it seems the "com" device itself is supported by wine, just not discovery. so if you add a json in the right place, it will work. I can get back with specifics later if you need.

over wifi it worked for me without any extra config. only thing might be that you have to install fonts I think, you can get it from winetricks corefonts

baltazar: How did you get it working with Wine? Did you have to do something special? It's not working for me.

baltazar: to sad, but thank you very much for your quick response. I'll try the Wine and WiFi thing then

um3n: it was working last time I checked. make sure your user can access serial devices (uucp group).

do note that this package is an absolute hack that will never work fully due to missing xcs_cpp_module for linux. in fact, I'm pretty sure xcs is no longer supported in favor of the new xtool studio (which is even more impossible to get working like this). I think your best bet is to run xtool studio under wine, it does work over wifi (but not usb).

I have a problem, i cannot connect my xtool s1 via usb with the xtool creative space. Is there something i miss?

Doesn't build with having nodejs-lts-iron installed.

CANNOT RUN WITH NODE 20.19.6
asar requires Node >=22.12.0.

Solution is to install nodejs which removes nodejs-lts-iron. Isn't nodejs missing from makedepends?

Hey, I've updated this mess. Apparently the latest version tries to load xcs_cpp_module right at the start so it wouldn't start at all. As a hack, I copied just a random other native node lib to its place. Brief testing shows that it seems to work as it did before but I can't guarantee much :)

I've been using it on my linux laptop to get everything ready, then just sync to my phone and have my phone send it to my xtool S1 over wifi. Much better workflow than having to boot windows (I haven't looked at wine yet for this) Hopefully xtool come back to you with a positive response, but I'm not holding my breath.
