Ah yes, the ol' "stage a new release upstream then make downstream projects rely on that upstream change but then don't stage a new downstream release number". Looks like we're moving to release number "master.mint19"

xviewer devs have switched from gnome-desktop to cinnamon-desktop. The old stable release won't compile with updated gnome-desktop and for cinnamon-desktop you need the latest commit on xviewer ... ;)

After the latest GNOME update, it doesn't run:

xviewer: error while loading shared libraries: libgnome-desktop-3.so.12: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and doesn't build anymore either:

xviewer-thumbnail.c: In function ‘create_thumbnail_from_pixbuf’: xviewer-thumbnail.c:126:10: error: implicit declaration of function ‘gnome_desktop_thumbnail_scale_down_pixbuf’; did you mean ‘gnome_desktop_thumbnail_path_for_uri’? [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration] thumb = gnome_desktop_thumbnail_scale_down_pixbuf (pixbuf, ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ gnome_desktop_thumbnail_path_for_uri

BUT, the github version does build fine. I'm not sure if flagging out of date is appropriate but it probably is since it can't be run with new dependencies.

it is safe to add arch armv7h in PKGBUILD

Finally had time to troubleshoot, turns out the package simply doesn't have the program name in it, only the version number. Git issue: https://github.com/linuxmint/xviewer/issues/5

Jeroen0494, could you confirm the package version (1.0.3.tar.gz) and md5 you are getting? I'm not seeing a conflict. ~/Downloads/xviewer % md5sum 1.0.3.tar.gz 30cc6ebbbf8fba936a4759d1fd17562c 1.0.3.tar.gz

Hi, Package validity check fails, md5sum check not up-to-date. Thanks!

my mistake - gdk-pixbuf2 is dependent for GTK3. Now is everything okay :-) Thanks!

ion203 commented on 2016-04-14 14:15 (UTC)

@alium Thanks for the note. gdk-pixbuf2 is pulled in as a dependency from gtk3; unless you mean the obsoleted version 0.22.0 in the aur?

alium commented on 2016-04-14 07:21 (UTC)

xviewer neeed gdk-pixbuf too, but not needed libgnomeui nor libgnome, please remove this obsolete dependencies. Thanks :-)
