@Xeno_Idaltu: I've never heard that, so I keep yaourt installed when I upgrade pacman, and have no problems.

I was once told to remove Yaourt when upgrading Pacman. Reintall Yaourt after Pacman's full system upgrade.

Does anyone keep Yaourt and upgrade Pacman without any problems?

@mxfm It is true. Same goes for pacaur.

@sicariusnoctis AFAIK the archlinux policy (described in the wiki) is not to make anything AUR related as official, which includes not moving aur helpers to core repo. If this is true, yaourt will never be in official repos.

Say that in #archlinux. They might disagree ^^.

I was the 3000th vote :D

Even with all its failings, yaourt should probably be in the official repos due to its insane demand.

$ alias ysyuan="yaourt -Syua --noconfirm"

leoteodoro78 commented on 2017-09-10 17:11

is there a option to confirm everything without type "--noconfirm"?
if ther's not, could the developer add a option to do it?
type "yaourt -Syuax" (takin' x as example to confirm everything, of corse), it's better than "yaourt -Syua --noconfirm"

@laichiaheng: Because AUR helpers are not allowed in the official repository.
