From what the author said, this package is a version of yt-dlp with this pull request applied. It should be a temporary solution until the pull request is merged, hopefully soon.
If you want to play a video with mpv, use
yt-dlp-rtp --quiet VIDEO_URL -o - | mpv -. To choose the resolution, check that available resolutions with the-Fargument and-f IDto choose it.In earlier versions,
mpv --script-opts=ytdl_hook-ytdl_path=yt-dlp-rtp VIDEO_URLworked well but it stopped working in one of the previous versions.
