Only prefer this over ytdl-sub if you:
a) Don't want python dependencies installed b) Want validated version pairs of ytdl-sub and yt-dlp
Typically you will get a better experience installing yt-dlp separately (with the ytdl-sub aur package), as it's likely a more recent version than is contained in this bin package.
I think ffmpeg should be added to depends:
ytdl-sub --dry-run sub ~/.config/ytdl-sub/subscriptions.yaml
[ytdl-sub] No config specified, using defaults.
[ytdl-sub] Validation error in default_config.configuration.ffmpeg_path: Expects an ffmpeg executable at '/usr/bin/ffmpeg', but does not exist. See https://github.com/jmbannon/ytdl-sub#installation on how to install ffmpeg dependencies.
This PKGBUILD is out of date, missing many recent releases.
The current PKBUILD version, "ytdl-sub-bin 2023.11.25-1" is not working. Gives this error message:
$ ytdl-sub -h
[43536] Error loading Python lib '/tmp/_MEIzX4uA2/libpython3.10.so.1.0': dlopen: libcrypt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
