The reason was that I originally installed z, then changed my mind and tried to install z-git over it, resulting in a conflict.

@Rhinoceros added conflict and provide, tho see little reason for provide. But no worries.

This package should conflict with (and provide) z

Sorry, flagged out-of-date by accident. Forgot, this was a git package. Installs fine as is.

@rupa
Oh. Right. I wonder why I didn't notice it before starting this package. Anyway, z-git's newer so I'm dropping this one. Thanks for noticing!

This is a duplicate of z-git package. Also, z does have tab completion :)

I pushed a man page for this thing just now.

works fine in 4.1 (of course) :P

Can someone confirm that this works as expected on bash 4.1? I am running version 4.2 in [testing] and am too lazy to test. :P

@msx
My problem with autojump was that it didn't learn fast enough and persisted with shortcuts I hadn't already needed. Z won this round but I missed tab completion with showing the alternatives. Then it turned out I can rather easily have autojump learn faster (the forum link) so I ditched z after a short romance. But if it suits you, that's just great :)
I have no idea why autojump doesn't work any longer for you but if you still want it, you should try the forum; the Arch community is pretty helpful.

@Caminoix: can you elaborate why you switched back to Autojump (just for learning purpose!)
My main reason to switch to Z-Jump it is after installing a new Arch three days ago I can't make Autojump work despite it was working fine in my previous installation.
For me Z-Jump showed up as a life-saviour!
Thanks again for your package.

Happy to hear you find it useful. Although, I must say to be honest that I came back to autojump. If your reason was not updating fast enough, you might want to see this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=110270.

Works great, thank you.
