@taba: good catch! I followed the official PKGBUILD from repos and they had libmupdf as make-dependency (this was fixed last September but I missed it). I'll push an update shortly.

Is the PKGBUILD not missing packages like libmupdf as a dependency compared to https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/zathura-pdf-mupdf/

Update: In #49a85ef Rework detection of mupdf link-external option was removed, and this not required (and not working) anymore.

Works for me if add -Dlink-external=true to meson as it's done in original package. @misc was right.

I know this is a known problem, and has subsequently been fixed (somehow) (see e.g. this bug report). But how can it be that, when I install this, I still get:

$ zathura foo.pdf
error: Could not load plugin '/usr/lib/zathura/libpdf-mupdf.so' (/usr/lib/libmupdf.so: undefined symbol: jbig2_ctx_new)

@chocolat @misc Anyone know how to deal with meson.build:23:0: ERROR: C library 'mupdfthird' not found? I've basically all possibly relevant mupdf packages installed (libmupdf, mupdf). If chocolat's PKGBUILD works, we probably should mark this package as orphaned so it can be updated in accordance with the updated PKGBUILD.

The updated PKGBUILD now needs -Dlink-external=true for meson.

The missing dependency on libmupdf was noted 4 months ago. Can you please update this package? If you don't want to maintain it or want help fell free to add me as a maintainer.
