@Det It doesn't work with OpenJDK at all; this choice of dependency was deliberate. Seems that the app has some serious problem with managing GUI.

Ok. Does it work with OpenJDK <= 7, tho? Then 'java-runtime<=7' would be enough.

@Det Sadly, I found it broken on both OpenJDK or any Java >=8.

Is it really only for Oracle JRE 7 or earlier?
