Good idea! I changed the PKGBUILD per your suggestion. It seems to work fine.

Could you remove the sudo line from the PKGBUILD as this is a security risk.

I think you can put that line in a post_install()/post_upgrade() function in the .install file. Those functions are run as root so sudo will be unnecessary.

Despite notes in latest commit, latest version works on Manjaro with optimus, as well as Arch systems, with the caveats previously noted. The issue seen with NV CONTROL seemed to be a transient issue solved by a system update & reboot: might have been a stale kernel or nvidia driver.

Updated first to 20.3.1 then 22.0 Didn't see any issues other than changing file names and md5sum

(Comment got eaten, trying again).

I had some issues building this package (mostly because HP likes hiding^wmoving things around): - Older versions of the ZCentral Boost Receiver can be found here: https://h30670.www3.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=NSM - Name of the latest supported version: ZCentral_RB_20.3_Linux_Receiver_M39127-005.tar.gz - MD5 Hash: 9760c4ff49d28b906b59634b350f8c00

So... of course I can't reproduce your error on either of my systems, which makes it difficult to know why it breaks your display manager. I also am mystified that it is even possible to break your systems by installing this package; I mean it's not as though it writes to anything critical for your display manager. Clearly there's something I'm missing here, and suggestions are welcome.

I moved the PKGBUILD to use the .deb file instead of the .rpm. Let me know if that changes anything.

Just tested installation via debtap. It worked an didnt kill my system. It wanted to install cuda-tools, mcpp and zeroc-ice. Removed it and installed this package again. Same as before. So this package breaks the system while the debtap version does not.

Would it be possible to ask the user how he wants to install Zcentral? Either via .deb or .rpm
