@iio7: Then you didn't do it right. You need to make sure zfs-utils actually compiles. And you need to make sure the dkms modules re-compile too. If you're using an aur helper, paru
has for example --rebuild
option. I'm not sure of the right way to trigger rebuild of dkms modules, but I'm sure you can figure that out.

ZFS wants libcrypto.so.1.1, which is no longer available on the system since the upgrade of OpenSSL.
iio7 commented on 2022-11-06 19:33 (UTC)
@fryfrog, thanks. But that didn't help, I am still getting the error after rebuilding and reinstalling zfs-dkms and zfs-utils.
fryfrog commented on 2022-11-06 03:52 (UTC)
It wasn't the kernel upgrade, it was openssl. Just rebuild and reinstall zfs-dkms and zfs-utils.
iio7 commented on 2022-11-06 03:22 (UTC)
There is an error since the latest upgrade to kernel 6.0.7 in which ZFS no longer works.
zfs: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypto.so.1.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
The same problem goes for the zpool command.

Please folks, report AUR helper issues to AUR helpers.

Okay, so it's a paru AUR helper issue if you get dependency errors on upgrade. Thanks, @FrederickZh.
<del>The update to 2.1.6 seems broken to me. The module builds, but the dependency to zfs-utils

@habys Are you using the LTS kernel? Personally I would definitely do that when it comes to really old hardware (or maybe consider to not even use Arch, but rather Debian or something else extremely stable).

OpenZFS currently supports Linux kernel versions 4.18 - 6.14, as declared in the META file.
Options if your Linux kernel's version is not within that range:
1) Switch to another Linux kernel, such as
linux-lts
.2) Prevent your kernel package from upgrading to an unsupported version until OpenZFS increases the maximum supported kernel version.
3) Modify this package to support your kernel by patching it on your local machine.

If you receive this error when trying to build, it is because you have not imported the GPG keys used for verification.
You have two options:
1) Import the two keys into your keyring. ArchWiki article. You can find the key IDs in the PKGBUILD file, in the
validpgpkeys
array. (recommended)2) Alternatively, you can skip this verification by passing the
--skippgpcheck
argument tomakepkg
when building. (not recommended)
