I see what you mean, and you're probably right about not being able to check for an update within the PKGBUILD. I realise now that the download link wasn't out of date, but makepkg saw that a file with that name already existed and didn't bother downloading the new one. Sorry.

This might make versioning easier, but it means still needing to delete the existing source file:

pkgver=150+bb38c97
pkgver() {
grep -Pho "(?<=Version=5\.0-beta\.).+" "$srcdir/Zotero_linux-$_arch/application.ini"|head -n1
}

Thanks for writing the PKGBUILD in the first place :)

parchd: I updated the pkgbuild to use the versioning. This may be out of date very rapidly, as it sometimes gets updated multiple times per day. I keep meaning to write a script to check if it has been updated. I'm not sure if there is a good way to do this within the pkgbuild.

Can you update the pkgbuild to use the version of the beta release. At the moment, which version the package is can be guesswork.

Download link also seems to be out of date (it would help if Zotero published somewhere that updates were released).

Currently using this I seem to get 5.0-beta.142+bb0fa73 although 147+1ff1fab is available.
