@bezirg I cannot reproduce your error.

It's very unlikely the last update produced this error. Could you try to reinstall again, or downgrade in versions to see when this error appeared?

With the latest update I get:

XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /usr/lib/zotero/libnspr4.so:
/usr/lib/zotero/libnspr4.so: invalid ELF header
Couldn't load XPCOM.

Has anybody else run into this?

Please:

  • use https instead of http for url=
  • install the license since it have additional copyright info respect to the common one in the licenses package
  • don't need so add yourself as Contributor while you are already the maintainer

With the current .desktop file, clicking a zotero:// link will open Zotero, but will not select the referenced collection/entry.

This can be fixed by changing the Exec entry to:
Exec=/usr/bin/zotero -url %u

The important thing seems to be the -url parameter.
I changed %f to %u since AFAIK %f is for files whereas zotero:// links are URLs for which %u exists.
It could be possible to use %U (for multiple URLs), instead of %u, which is the field code the /usr/lib/zotero/zotero.desktop file uses.

I don't have KDE to test it, sorry.

I don't know if this can work:

kde-open zotero://select/items/5_YUXAKK53

If you found a solution, I can implement it.

When I enter that command into the Konsole there is a pop up saying that no io-slave can be created and that klauncher doesn't know the "zotero" protocol. I tried to click zotero links from within obsidian as well and it's the same.

Sorry, now it's fixed.
