AFAIK the issue still exists in upstream Zsh, so this may be useful for those who want to avoid the issue. That said, this fork hasn't been getting updated, so it may not be a favorable choice.
I don't use the package myself at this time, and don't mind if it's deleted, but can't speak for anyone else.
