I'm using kernel version 6.2, which is already in arch's test repository, and the 8188fu driver is already included in it, in the rtl8xxxu module. Just a note below: The module doesn't load itself with systemd, so you'll have to enable it using modprobe or, what I think is better, add it to systemd's autoload, using: "/etc/modules-load.d/rtl8xxxu .conf". As explained here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_module The drive is much faster, no crashes, nothing. Very good!

6.2 is the first version where the rtl8xxxu driver supports the RTL8188FU chip.

@jackoneill r8188fu was to blacklist the driver from the other AUR package (and other other package). These packages are listed in conflicts so that blacklisting shouldn't be necessary.
Thanks for the tip. I've replaced r8188fu in the blacklist with rtl8xxxu. Let me know if there are any issues with the new package.
It looks like there have been rtl8xxxu files in the kernel tree since 2016, which is surprising to me. Do you know what has changed to make us have to blacklist it in 6.2?

Kernel 6.2 will be out soon. You should blacklist rtl8xxxu in order to keep using this driver without issues.
On the topic of blacklisting, there is no module called "r8188fu". (There is a module called "r8188eu", but that's not related.)

Quick update: I got the hardware, currently testing and found out that the driver has more problem than I thought.....
