@yourmom777 no it should not be included. automake will be pulled by base-devel group which assumed to be installed when building with makepkg. Wiki

Thank you. It installed properly now.
Since this affects the other abook AUR package, I suspect the issue is upstream. Hopefully, at some point, it is resolved.
Update:
In case other people experience this same issue on other AUR packages, manually adding the PGP key using a different keyserver is an effective solution.
An example for this package (or abook-configdir) would be:
It seems lately that the default keyserver has been acting up, rather than an issue with abook or this package.
With this, you can put the signature check back, @eugene. All the best.

It doesn't happen when I run abook. I don't have it and I'm trying to install it.
Running 'yay -Syu abook' proceeds normally until it tries to import the PGP keys. It happens on my main machine running Arch as well as a fresh Manjaro VM using Pamac.
