@mobit Seems like you just got really unlucky and were impacted by a GitHub change that they have since reverted: https://github.blog/changelog/2023-01-30-git-archive-checksums-may-change/
While I was already at it, I updated the package to v3.21.2.
Please try installing again, it should work as expected now.

@freb You are correct. The examples folder some time ago only used to contain files. Updated to set sub-directories to 755 and files to 644. Also bumped to latest version.

I think the directories under
/usr/share/amass/exampleshave the wrong permissions. Seems like read access to the files under that path and execute permissions on the directories should be permitted by all users. @lawnmower_man The %w verb isn't allowed in format strings that don't wrap errors anymore such as Printf or Sprintf in go 1.13+. It simply doesn't make sense anymore see: https://play.golang.org/p/-kQ6HtIIMG7 which runs go1.13.7 to see why. This is an upstream problem, they should replace %w with %v. If they don't soon I'll patch it and submit a PR. As a workaround you could downgrade to go1.12.
