IF PROBLEM HAPPEN

this package is our try to put amdgpu in ARCH, but this could break or have problems as amd update and change their packages for ubuntu

if anything happens you can always download a older tag in https://github.com/Ashark/archlinux-amdgpu-pro/releases and get the PKGBUILD there, and use makepkg with that build while we update or try to fix :)

ALWAYS USE LINUX-FIRMWARE-GIT IF LATEST DRIVER FAIL BEFORE ISSUE SOME ERROR

@simir thx for the work, but its not that simple (at least not for general release) to generate a pkg without some "strange work" from amd it need to go by some steps in

https://github.com/Ashark/archlinux-amdgpu-pro

i'll try to update this today, but fell free to open a PR there :)

I updated the pkgbuild to use the latest version, I also removed the pro vulkan driver dependency from amf as it can be used with radv now, there's no dependency now but I imagine it should be changed to an optional dependency to a list of valid vulkan drivers. https://pastebin.com/raw/WX0tfCrZ

Newer drivers are under the version 6.0.1 folder at https://repo.radeon.com/amdgpu for release 23.40. Amf is also updated to 1.4.33. Flagged OOD for update.

and this is one of the problems that make me tired to maintain that, the people see a new version of the driver and flag this as outdated even if arch cannot work with the last version released by amd, and if the package is flagged as outdated it can be removed, so its a pain to work with amd and with arch with that

but yeah, i`ll not stop for now

https://github.com/GPUOpen-LibrariesAndSDKs/AMF/issues/392#issuecomment-1891122382 this issue helps to understand this problem, and yeah, we cannot do much here, just wait for the firmwares to sync again, i advice on trying other version of this package and hope that it works

also you can try to use the linux-firmware (not the -git) should work with the current version of this package (its the one i use)

@cschlote: The answer is that the AMF people and the normal linux people at AMD do not work together. Each releases GPU firmware independently. I got this first hand from an AMD guy. Your linux-firmware is of course from the linux people and amdgpu-pro expects handpicked firmware from the AMF people...

For some weeks now, I see the following error in amf-test-linux:

system VCN FW Encode interface version=1.12, expected version=1.13

As proposed I tried older version of the amdgpu packages. Then I see:

system VCN FW Encode interface version=1.12, expected version=1.11

I tried any old version from the last year. The is no version which expects 1.12. It directly jumps from 1.11 to 1.13

And yes, I use the latest linux-firmware-git package.

Can somebody please explain, why there is no matching userland code for the amdgpu fimware for R7700XT, which is installed on my system (on up-to-date Manjaro)?
