In order to get rid of annoying update messages at startup, go into Tools > Options > Interface > Start. Disable the 'Check for latest version" and 'Auto download updates' options.
Also disable 'Enable plugin update checking' in Tools > Options > Plugins > Plugin Update.
Hello! If run by non-admin user, there is an issue with writing to /opt/biglybt, so plugins can't finish the update and each time the app starts, it's asking to restart to finish plugin installaion.
When run with sudo, it works fine, but afterwards if run via normal user, there is the same warning that the plugin has to be updated o_O
I see the solution as running bigly via it's own user and chown /opt/biglybt to this user. (But I don't know how to do it and hope you understand me =DD)
I think this program is designed to be used with Java 8, Java 11 might also work but anything newer will have problems.

Checksum fixed. Upstream changed the installer after I had released the package.
Version 3.0.0.0 throws a validation error

Just updated to 2.9.0.0 and it works again! So just 2.8.0.0 seems like it was broken.
namcap tells me, that 'xdg-utils` should be an (opt)depend (I suggest it to be an optdepend, because not all users use full blown desktop environments at all):
biglybt E: Dependency xdg-utils detected and not included (programs ['xdg-open'] needed in scripts ['usr/share/applications/biglybt.desktop'])

I just updated from 2.7.0.2-2 to 2.8.0.0-1 and all jars seem to be corrupt jars, "End-of-central-directory signature not found."
Also tried opening them with unzip and it gives the same error.

The classes are not found as the jars are invalid too.
I also patched that the start script uses uname -p instead of uname -m for detecting arch (-p gives unkown for me while -m gives x86_64) (the fallback detection fails due to the jar for it also being corrupt).
Tried building both with yay and manually by cloning repo and makepkg. Any clue why i am getting this?
