Thanks for adding this to the AUR.

To print from my system, I had to add the printer in CUPS as a 'LPD/LPR Host or Printer', and my connection is 'lpd://PRINTER_IP/BINARY_P1' substituting my printer's ip address for PRINTER_IP. Hope this helps someone else.

Thanks for providing. Installed it this week and scanning/printing works both via USB and via network/CUPS (after adding the printer as described in the pinned comment). Unfortunately this package doesn't include drivers for the fax which I have yet to find a solution for yet.

I'm using a Steam Deck which by default lacks the KDE parts for managing a printer. But installing the package 'print-manager' with pacman fixes this and now I can administrate the printer via the system settings too.

Thanks for pointing that out. I updated the dependency package.

Ok I have a solution for this problem. The dependency package lib32-glib is simply outdated. It should be dependency=('lib32-glib2'). This worked for me, I hope the maintainer can fix this.

@rouhim

I dont have that printer any longer so can't trouble shoot this.

rouhim commented on 2021-10-26 15:36 (UTC)

Does not work any longer.

This worked for me too. +1

True, it's not for your printer so I don't know what you expect here. Feel free to come up with your own PKGBUILD for the J435W. :-)

I had to configure lib32-glib to lib32-glibc to install dependencies. I tried this as a work around for Brother MFC-J435W but it didn't work, so I will build my own package and upload it to the AUR. I was lazy and I paid the price.
