I've made a new PKGBUILD based on the latest stable capnproto package, but using git instead: https://gist.github.com/pepijndevos/b171748cf5689f2cdc39892220747145

@Shrike, could you please update the package so that it compiles again? I've tried @SpotlightKid's PKGBUILD, it works for me. If you don't want to maintain this package any longer then please disown it so that someone else can take over. Thanks.

The PKGBUILD I propose (using cmake): https://gist.github.com/z3ntu/89c3e90965f7f6ab9840698a924db830

Here's a fixed PKGBUILD: https://gist.github.com/SpotlightKid/32c65fff9cf843c580d912c8fe8054bd

This package is now broken as gtest is no longer available over svn/from googlecode, instead having moved to https://github.com/google/googletest (I think you'll have to either get the tag checked out or grab the tarball.

The PKGBUILD has been updated to now add the Cap'n Proto license file to /usr/share/licenses.

from AUR wiki page : Warning: Packages in the AUR assume the base-devel group is installed, and AUR packages will not list members of this group as dependencies even if the package cannot be built without them. Please ensure this group is installed before complaining about failed builds. autoconf, automake & libtool are in base-devel group, just use pacman -Syu base-devel .

And finally, `./configure` should be `./configure --prefix=/usr` Ref: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Packaging_Standards#Package_etiquette

DigitalPioneer commented on 2014-03-29 17:33 (UTC)

That and automake and libtool :P On a fresh system, I know I'll need make and gcc, but these other things might not automatically come to mind as being necessary to build certain packages.

DigitalPioneer commented on 2014-03-29 17:28 (UTC)

Probably wouldn't hurt to add autoconf as a build-time dependency.
