I still see the robojs error, but it is working for me today. Weird

I'm also getting the same error. App in AUR is completely broken.

I'm getting "error: Error: Cannot find module 'robotjs'" error on startup. Is it just me?

Hi @ulidtko You're right. I've submitted a feature request for release notifs and versioning, feel free to vote here: https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/release-notification-for-desktop-release Also I've setup a daily url checker for the AppImage, so hopefully I'll be notified when it changes.

Hi @DaWe, you've got to exert pressure; a lot companies have poor technical support policy (meaning, people answering you are rarely competent, and just want you to churn away).

For example, this is demonstrably not true (a.k.a. bullshit):

They don't have any publicly available release channels.

In two ways, in fact! One is the appimage "latest version" download url on clickup.com. This is a public release channel, isn't it? The problem with it is clear: it's not versioned.

Another is the public ClickUp organization on GitHub. The repo literally says "Public release channel". The problem with this is also clear: it's not getting updated for awhile. Which is unacceptable.

Is ClickUp saying, that org isn't theirs? That must mean someone has compromised their product by impersonating the company?..

(etc etc, use some force, make it escalate internally and reach engineering; make them own their shit)

Hi @ulidtko, I already contacted ClickUp support multiple times. They don't have any publicly available release channels. There is no way to get a download URL for earlier versions, so they will always break the PKGBUILD when a release happens. They don't care.

@szalinski correct, https://desktop.clickup.com/linux is not a good source URL for PKGBUILD — as it's not version-pinned. Every update will break checksum checks.

At 2.x times (when I've been using the app), I had better success with https://github.com/clickup/clickup-release/releases — but apparently the repo is dead, not updated since 2021.

Perhaps write to help@clickup.com ? Pointing out they have a defunct release channel, and this issue https://github.com/clickup/clickup-release/issues/12

@newt9 Nope, the PKGBUILD is not valid. There is a problem with AppImage sha256sum. Probably the authors deployed a new version (the download link doesn't specify version).

A workaround is to download the AppImage manually, calculate sha256 manually (for now it is dc20fe540f8877f3c03b7f93a4a0527be17f9415132d3b760075bd746ef4f711 ), update sum in PKGBUILD and install it manually ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Creating_packages#Testing_the_PKGBUILD_and_package )

I'm getting:

==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

error: failed to download sources for 'clickup-3.3.55-1':

error: packages failed to build: clickup-3.3.55-1

Removed it and re-downloaded. Still doesn't work. Is everything OK with the PKGBUILD?

I have updated this package to v3.1.2.
