Please rename the downloaded tarball using the ::-syntax, e.g. 

source=("pkgname-$pkgver::https://github.com/conqp/${_repo_name}/archive/refs/tags/${pkgver}.tar.gz"

Having a pkgver-only tarball is not unique enough for users who define SRCDEST in makepkg.conf.
