Package now split to 3 - client, server, kernel module. This package follows develop branch so if you want the latest released check corefreq-dkms. Please report any issues!

@artafinde : I may. But coding CoreFreq is coming first.

@Cyring: A few issues with this package:

  • The name should be something like corefreq-dkms-git since it's build with dkms and added in kernel as extramodule - it is not stand alone as the name currently suggests.

  • By following an approach such as for example zenpower-dkms-git an update to the kernels would trigger a rebuild of the extramodules.

  • the pkgver should be parameterized as per FabioLolix suggestion and the wiki. If you have un-annotated (optional) tags upstream a pkgver function like the one from wiki will make the name 1.80.rc.1.r51.g9310750-1 - see below.

  • You have set the pkgver in PKGBUILD to be 1.81 but that tag is nowhere to be found in github - this should match upstream.

  • The .install file is not required now as it's automatically implemented with pacman hooks see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/DKMS_package_guidelines

pkgver() {
  cd "${_gitname}"
  git describe --long --tags | sed 's/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g'
}

@FabioLolix: done for Contributor

How can I manage the change of:

pkgver=1.80

with

pkgver()

because DRVTREE needs ${pkgver}

FabioLolix commented on 2020-08-18 18:26

Hello, this pkgbuild is missing the pkgver() function https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines#Git

No need to set your self as contributor when you are already the maintainer

@sandsmark: thanks for your patch, I'm currently studying it for impacts & integration; however can you tell if you have had binary files left over when following my recommended installation procedure ?

where dkms.conf script is taking in charge the deletion of files ? See thePOST_REMOVE keyword which cleans the files up.

sandsmark commented on 2020-06-23 11:37

http://ix.io/2pW6 here's a fixed, cleaned up version that should install things properly. there's still some noise from namcap, but this works a bit better.

sandsmark commented on 2020-06-23 10:56

When uninstalling this leaves some files in /usr.

Please follow the AUR package installation procedure for ArchLinux

Seems systemd-unit not works anymore:

$ systemctl status corefreqd.service

@Lone_Wolf Nice suggestion, let me think about it. But I wonder what it will bring to Users: CoreFreq is an "all-in-one" software to make it somewhat "easy" to install and run.
