Flexo, the successor of cpcache, is now available on AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/flexo-git/

I recommend everyone who's currently using cpcache to switch to flexo.

Thanks for the input. I'll keep that in mind when creating an AUR package for the successor of cpcache (currently still a work in progress). But I'm going to leave this build as it is, to focus my efforts on the successor project.

Why does this track specific versions? git packages usually get the latest commit and are not meant to be updated after every release. Another package should be created for stable releases.

@jarda-wien: thanks for letting me know. I recall that it ran somewhat sluggish on the 1st raspberry pi, but the Turris Omnia is much more powerful.

@nrio: thanks! I am using this on the Turris Omnia router with 1 GB RAM (https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Turris_Omnia). Runs like a charm in lxc arch container. I am happy to do some testing/debugging if you'd like.

@jarda-wien: I'm curios, which router are you using? I'm just interested in knowing whether cpcache is also used on low-end hardware, and if the memory footprint of cpcache is something I should be concerned about.

Hi nrio, please do not force arch to x86_64. I am using this package on my router (armv7) and have to update the PKGBUILD for it to work.

I still think cpcache is the best pacman caching solution. Thank you for maintaining it.

@Arhat install pacman-contrib and use paccache with the -c switch set to your cpcache cache directory, e.g.:

for cache_dir in /var/cache/cpcache/pkg/{community,core,extra,multilib}/os/x86_64/; do paccache -k3 -c $cache_dir; done
