Please re-read my earlier comments...as they refute any idea that the current code is un-maintained or broken. FURTHER, here's a quote from the forked code you suggested;

" All binaries must be copied over complete, working, official installation. These do not work alone. ------------------WARNINGS-----------------

This is NOT official release ! "

^^^ As such this package SHOULD remain as is.

the developer of ccqrlog hasn't updated or fixed his software for years. this fork is updated and maintained. anyway I just wanted to point out a possibility of having cqrlog updated. I say this because I use cqrlog as my radio log software. I don't want to suggest that there is anything wrong.

The one you suggested seems to be a fork !

Um....there are three choices in the aur for "cqrlog". This one, the -git one, and the -source one. I have just now tested all three..They are loading up fb om... PLUS the -git one is up to date as of 3 weeks ago and is NOT a fork...SO, I would say there is nothing wrong here !!

I'm using this package here. would it make sense to hook this instead of the original author package which is no longer maintained?

cqr5.zip
It is stable.

Not sure what is different but cqrlog now installs without issue. I have been letting it install a new log and then adding one with my call sign. All builds I have tested work fine. Kudos to whomever fixed this.

Actually the thread where this IS discussed as an established bug is here (in the forums at "cqrlog.com"):

"TMySQL57Connection error on rename creating new database in EndeavourOS (Arch)"

As such you could remind them that this is a bug in THEIR (upstream to us) code !! (And be sure to reference the thread above as well, so they can stop ignoring the bad code.)

P.S....You could use another logging program if this is not to your liking. OR you can supply a TESTED patch to the upstream code.

Well here we are on December 13th and still no working CQRLog in the AUR. What can those of us that rely on it for logging do? It has been almost three months since I reported that it does not work. :-(

WOW....it seems the problem is not being able to create a new log vrs. editing an existing log. The upstream author has not yet responded to notices about this issue in his forums.

All three of the CQRLog program files fail to install. TMYSQL57Connection:Error executing query:Error on rename More to the error message. I have screen shots of all three attempts. Thanks for all the hard work. Ken -w6bzy
