"You need to replace debug by !debug in /etc/makepkg.conf in line OPTIONS from GLOBAL PACKAGE OPTIONS section (bottom of the file)"

Hmm.. @mjr4077au - am I seeing the same versioning that you are? eduke's version looks fine in the log for me

$ head -n 1 ~/eduke32.log 
EDuke32 r9142_e3946bf81-e3946bf81
$ head -n 1 ~/voidsw.log 
VoidSW r(?)

For the make line for EDuke32, probably best to drop the VC_REV=${pkgver/r} as it's mucking up the versioning in-game. Check version in log of VoidSW (right) vs EDuke32.

It seems we're doing it right. Split building was removed https://git.archlinux.org/pacman.git/tree/NEWS?h=v5.0.0#n40

Oh I see what you mean now about it building both but only installing what you want. Yeah not ideal but works fine for now.

Naah you did it right. I ran an update in yay and it saw that the version had bumped for eduke32-git. Updated and only installed eduke. I think it's good!
