in build() function: cd "$_build_dir" -> cd "${srcdir}/${pkgname}-${pkgver}/build"

Thx @m-pilia. That was exactly my problem.

Hello bobschi! Cannot be sure without seeing the exact error message, but if you see a VNL related compile error that says "dunno about this gcc", it is an issue with the insight-toolkit package, not with elastix. Here you find a patch that fixes it: https://github.com/InsightSoftwareConsortium/ITK/commit/4afac33fd2680d983989e4cee00605fa82439cce#diff-4e6c81f8e09f8b7a7b6f54c10c849617

What you can do is to rebuild insight-toolkit applying that patch or, if you prefer a fast temporary fixup, you can just manually add those lines to /usr/include/ITK-4.13/vcl_compiler.h directly in your filesystem.

Elastix can not be compiled with the current gcc version. I am not sure how to fix that. Maybe add an older version of gcc as dependency and force the usage of that.

@nicoulaj Thanks, I added the missing dependency! The linking error seems weird however, I tried on my installation and the package built fine. Just to be sure, I checked with ldconfig, both KNNlib and ANNlib were not on my linking path before building. The two files libANNlib.so and libKNNlib.a should be built during the elastix make process.

It looks like the package is missing a dependency on "ann" (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ann), but even after installing it I still get linking errors (ld can't find -lKNNlib -lANNlib)
