Thanks for the detailed information. Much appreciated! It did fix the issue.

The developers put out the 1.16 release on github in December of 2020. They have continued committing changes to the Electrumx code and those changes go into the master branch. One of the changes they made resolves the aiorpcx version issue. When they release 1.17 (or however they end up numbering it) we will get that fix because the theoretical 1.17 will contain all new commits since 1.16. If you would like to get the fix now, the git version of this package (and other git packages in the AUR) contains 1.16 with all of the commits since that release including the aiorpcx fix. The only downside is that since the developer hasn't done an official release it's possible that there are problems with the master branch (git version). I probably doesn't hurt to try the git version though and see if it works for you.

One thing to note about git versions in the AUR. They typically won't ever prompt you for an update with your AUR package manager. You will have to manually run the update to get all of the new commits since you last updated the package.

Ah thanks for the quick response!

I am kinda a noob at this; why would the git version resolve this issue? I guess I don't know the difference.

Thanks for the help.

@sovran - this is actually an upstream issue. See this commit to master on the electrumx github page:

https://github.com/spesmilo/electrumx/commit/0256e97715f16730be7293d5f8d893bb476315dc

You can run the git version of electrumx (also in the AUR) and that will resolve your aiorpcx-0.22 issue. Otherwise we have to wait until the electrumx maintainers rev to the next version which will include this fix. They don't do releases often, the last one was in December of 2020.

Hello!

Electrumx is erroring in the arch update (manjaro) as noted here: -> Could not find all required packages: python-aiorpcx<0.19.0 (Wanted by: electrumx)

I just updated Manjaro and it updated to python-aiorpcx-0.22.0-1. Now, electrumx will not install as noted from the error above.

Thanks!

The .sysusers file is responsible for creating that directory and setting up proper ownership. I'm not sure what could cause it to not work. Unless I've made a mistake in the PKGBUILD that's the responsibility of other parts of the system.

When I try to start the service it expects the directory /srv/electrumx to exist. I can't see where this should have been created but it wasn't. Should I just create it and move on? Did I miss something here?

edit: Ah, I see it's the DB_DIRECTORY in the conf file. Does it need ownership by electrumx user?

"As for python-websockets, I think technically it should be a dependency of python-aiorpcx, but I'll add it here too for now."

You are correct about this. "python-websockets" is a dependency of "python-aiorpcx" so you can safely remove it from electrumx next time you do a revision.

Whoops, my bad on the checksum. Thanks!

As for python-websockets, I think technically it should be a dependency of python-aiorpcx, but I'll add it here too for now.

I think "python-websockets" needs to be added as a dependency.

Thanks for maintaining this package!
