I will also update elements-project to build from source

This package doesn't work. The Elements team didn't provide a binary for this release, only the source code. Per the AUR packaging guidelines this should include a -bin since it is using a prebuilt binary file:

"Packages that use prebuilt deliverables, when the sources are available, must use the -bin suffix."
