I tried again and it worked but this time I issued gpg instead of gpg2 and used yay
thanks

are you sure it looks for the key in /etc/pacman.d/gnupg ? I added it to my home ~/.gpg for my tests that were successful

Not an archlinux expert here.

I added the key doing:
gpg2 --homedir /etc/pacman.d/gnupg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 634BFC0CCC426C74389D89310F1CFF71A2813E85

but I still get:
==> Verifying source file signatures with gpg...
encryptpad0_5_0_1_src.tar.gz ... FAILED (unknown public key 0F1CFF71A2813E85)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!

You need to download or update the key in your gnupg:

gpg2 --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 634BFC0CCC426C74389D89310F1CFF71A2813E85

tried building using chroot and with aur helpers too.
Got this error:
encryptpad0_5_0_1_src.tar.gz ... FAILED (unknown public key 0F1CFF71A2813E85)
==> ERROR: One or more PGP signatures could not be verified!
==> ERROR: Could not download sources.

@evpo thank you! cloning/compiling the repo worked

evpo commented on 2020-11-10 10:42 (UTC)

@iltoga libbotan is now 2.17 but your encryptpad links to 2.16. Rebuild and reinstall the encryptpad AUR. It will work against botan 2.17

since one week ago system update (pacman -Syu) I get this when trying to run encryptpad:

encryptpad: error while loading shared libraries: libbotan-2.so.16: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Thanks for reminding me @citydweller1985

--use-system-libs is removed until the issue is fixed in the botan package

Due to errors in botan release 2.9.0 you have to remove in the PKGBUILD section "build" --use-system-libs
