WARNING: This package installs FBC from source using a bootstrapped compiler because the compiler it is written in FreeBasic.

If you are installing this package on a system that does not have an installed version of FBC and you are doing it via a package helper (i.e yam, pamac etc), the installation will fail!

To install it for the first time:

  • Download the package snapshot using the link on the top right section of this page.

  • Uncompress the downloaded package and change to the newly created folder. A file PKGBUILD should inside this folder.

  • Type makepkg to build the package and then use pacman -U to install the final package.

After that, you will be able to install future package updates automatically using your package helper.

Since I didn't find "update-libffi-compat" I googled onto the web and found the script at this link: https://github.com/ghollisjr/libffi-compat/blob/master/update-libffi-compat By copying it into an executable file and running it as sudo before to launch the installation from Aur, I was able to compile and install FBC

@Frontier: it seems that FBC isn't dead... It's still actively developed.

@simona: install it from here https://aur-dev.archlinux.org/packages/libtinfo/

FBC is pretty dead by 2018, I will soon orphan the package...

Thank you! I'm very happy of this update... Package compilation gone well after a "sudo update-libffi-compat" as you stated.
