Tip: There's a free software equivalent for foobar2000 on GNU/Linux called DeaDBeeF.

For anyone wanting to use the 64 bit version of foobar2000 with bottles. set the windows version to windows 7 and it will not crash. Thats if you don't want to use the fix provided for the checksum and build locally.

My PKGBUILD has the correct sum from RedSnt, and still wouldn't build.

Now it appears it's downloading foobar2000_v2.1.2.exe, which has a sha256 checksum of 2d745bde8e594d5c3e7875893265ad42b80c13e5f1d1b6012c8a5977642f0f48 ... so, replace the first checksum with this value, change the pkgver to 2.1.2, and build locally.

Good luck!

Please consider fixing the sums. I'm sure many ppl can fix this for themselves, but at the same time having an AUR package like this that needs user intervention is kind of moot, since it's just easy to run Foobar with an older version of Wine in a Bottle..

Unfortunately it seems to download the 2.1 version currently even when pgkver=2.0
And obviously fails when trying to compare the sha256 sums.

Took a bit of messing around to figure out that it's comparing the x86 versions, and this is v2.1's sha256 sum: 61759ceb561f6a4f8960cb566c0f425ae4aff80170ba54ac2cce5e20e284eec5 Replace the first sha256 sum in the list of sums in the build file, should work then.

EDIT: Ah, as it says in the comments "7z can't open the new 64bit executable yet so for now we'll keep using the legacy 32bit even on 64bit systems" - that's why it's not using the 64 bit version.

When I install this package I get an error when trying to play back .mp3 and .m4a files. I uninstalled the package and installed foobar2000.exe directly from the foobar2000 website, installed it as 'portable' and it worked.

The error that foobar throws is:

Unrecoverable playback error: Unknown error code (0x80040154)

Build fails as of 10/20/2022

@supermario The wineprefix should be automatically set to windows<8.1, e.g to windows 8.

Flupp commented on 2022-01-20 17:36 (UTC)

When starting on a fresh install (no Wine application ever executed), the startup script fails with:

wine: chdir to /home/⟨user⟩/.local/share/wineprefixes/foobar2000 : No such file or directory

With

mkdir -p "$HOME/.local/share/wineprefixes/"

the problem could easily be fixed. Maybe this should go into the script as well.

@Magotchi: and as you can see, the package is currently flagged out of date.

Oh, you filed that request. Carry on.
