@alaskajade very strange indeed.. so maybe a caching issue of some sort. I'm pretty sure I wrote the pkgbuild correctly, but it's always possible I'm missing something.

Anyway, glad to hear you've got it working somehow!

Oh, well nevermind, I am able to manually install it now. One of the first things I tried was cloning the repo and building the package myself, and that didn't work back when I tried it, but I'm running it again today and all the checksums clear.

That's funny. The error I got back when makepkg failed was the same checksum error that paru provided. Now, only paru gives a checksum error, while manually building passes all the checksums. Very strange.

@alaskajade I'd love to troubleshoot further in case someone else runs into this issue. Did makepkg generate an error that you could provide?

I'm glad to hear you found a workaround lol

I did try building it with makepkg, but that didn't work either.

I don't know why my system gets this checksum error, probably some networking thing. But I can download and run the server installer from files.minecraftforge.net and get the server.jar file like that, so I ended up hosting a server that way. I'm a little silly for not trying this earlier than I did.

edit: i looked over this, but i could've just download the forge-1.12.2.14.23.5.2859-installer.jar file listed in the sources and ran that with java too. lol.

@alaskajade are you able to manually install it (eg. without using an aur helper) via:

  1. git clone "https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/forge-server-1.12.2.git"

  2. cd forge-server-1.12.2/

  3. makepkg -si

Reproducing the issue you're having is proving difficult for me. I'm able to build and install from a fresh arch container (via systemd-nspawn) without issue.

paru -S --rebuild forge-server-1.12.2 returns the same checksum error :(

trainzkid commented on 2024-03-03 05:09 (UTC)

@alaskajade try --rebuild instead of cc (so the full command would be paru -S --rebuild forge-server-1.12.2).

Better or worse?

alaskajade commented on 2024-03-03 04:05 (UTC)

I'm still having the same issue. I did run paru -Scc to make sure my cache was clear before I upgraded, but i'm still having the same log as the one i posted. If the checksums are really correct now, then i'm not sure why i'm still getting the same error.
