A giflib4 package exists now allowing this package to build and run, so the dependencies need to be updated. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/giflib4/ It doesn't currently work with this package unless you do one of: a) Patching its PKGBUILD (as I describe in the giflib4 comments) b) Manually creating a symlink (/usr/lib/libgif.so.4 -> giflib4/libgif.so.4.1.7) c) Modifying the linker's search paths to include `/usr/lib/giflib4`, by setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH, calling ldconfig, et al.

Move from giflib 4.x to API incompatible 5.x in extra breaks this package. Until someone makes a giflib4 package on AUR, it will remain broken.
