There is now a non-VCS PKGBUILD for this extension [https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gnome-shell-extension-vitals]. If you'd like to use an AUR helper and have it accurately notify you when a PKGBUILD for a newer version is available switch to that.

jrabensc, syxbit: This is a VCS PKGBUILD [https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/VCS_package_guidelines]. pkgver is automatically updated when the package is built. You can't rely on an AUR helper to tell you when VCS packages are out of date and need to be rebuilt. If you want to use a VCS package it's your responsibility to track upstream and decide when to rebuild.

same as jrabensc.
I really like vitals, but this is annoying. I've temporarily fixed by adding vitals to IgnorePkg in pacman.conf

Update is not working here, the package is marked to be updated again after every update.

eaut: Thanks for the heads up on the change upstream. I've updated the PKGBUILD to cope with the change in location for prefs.ui

PKGBUILD needs small fix

 - install -Dm644 schemas/prefs.ui "${_destdir}/schemas/prefs.ui"
 + install -Dm644 prefs.ui "${_destdir}/prefs.ui"

Echoing a shout out from the dev for a bit of help from the community. Step up and help out if you can folks. https://github.com/corecoding/Vitals/issues/134

Package build fails due to missing .mo file for Slovak translation. Binary .mo files should be generated as part of the build process. See https://github.com/corecoding/Vitals under the "Development commands" section.

Adding "msgfmt XYZ.po -o XYZ.mo" to PKGBUILD before install and a build dependency to "gettext" should fix it.

Hello! Build fails with an error: install: cannot stat 'sk//LC_MESSAGES/*.mo': No such file or directory
