Do not install this with gnome-shell 3.32! It will crash your gnome-shell every time you press tab and after couple of crashes will prevent gnome-shell from restarting. There is an issue opened:

https://github.com/workspace-grid/workspace-grid/issues/119

If you have problems starting your gnome-shell after installing this, then you can manually remove this plugin from ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ folder using console.

Hi. The issue is explained better in this bug https://github.com/rmarquis/pacaur/issues/612. Thanks.

I can't reproduce this (I am not using pacaur though).

I'm getting the following error in pacaur: :: gnome-shell-extension-workspace-grid package(s) failed to install. Check .SRCINFO for mismatching data with PKGBUILD. EDIT: Since this is a git repo please either rename it with -git ending or use the release packages.

It works for me now, thanks!

@314eter thanks, I was indeed missing these lines. Please let me know if everything is OK now.

You need to copy myWorkspaceSwitcherPopup.js to $pkgdir. install -m644 "${_uuid}/myWorkspaceSwitcherPopup.js" \ "${pkgdir}/usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/${_uuid}/myWorkspaceSwitcherPopup.js"

I get the same error that wsha is experiencing. Neither restarting Gnome Shell nor re-installing the package seem to be working. Furthermore, on https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/484/workspace-grid/, the package is marked with "ERROR" on my side. Could this be related?

That is weird. Did you try restarting gnome shell (alt+F2 r) and Gnome Tweak Tool? If it still does not work please try removing the package and installing it again.
