Please note that Epic has delisted Unreal on GOG.
This package works with the GOG installer (I don't know if it works with other versions), and applies OldUnreal's patch.
It provides /usr/bin/gog-unreal-tournament-goty (originally ut-bin) for playing and /usr/bin/gog-unreal-tournament-goty-ucc (originally ucc-bin) for dedicated servers/etc.
Thanks I've updated .desktop file accordingly.
Regarding permissions they're being set as 777 due to this https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gog-unreal-tournament-goty?O=10#comment-774471
I'm not sure what "fix game saves" refers to, I'll try looking into it and see if I can set more restrictive permissions.
Works now, thanks @zachasme. gog-unreal-tournament-goty.desktop will still need to be updated since it's pointing to /opt/gog/unreal-tournament-goty/System/instead of /opt/gog/unreal-tournament-goty/System64/ where the ut-bin-amd64 binary is.
The permissions should also probably be changed, 755 for directories, 644 for all files except ut-bin, ut-bin-amd64, ucc-bin and ucc-bin-amd64 which should be 755.

There appears to be an error somewhere in the prepare section?

To run type..
$ /opt/gog/unreal-tournament-goty/System64/ut-bin-amd64
A few lines above you should have also gotten this error:
==> Retrieving sources...
-> Downloading setup_ut_goty.exe...
Could not find setup_ut_goty.exe (gogdownloader://unreal_tournament_goty/en1installer0). Manually download it to "/home/creightn/aur/gog-unreal-tournament-goty", or set up a gogdownloader:// DLAGENT in /etc/makepkg.conf.
I've just updated the PKGBUILD to fail earlier, that way it should be harder to miss.
I just tried to makepkg with this and got this error: -> Found gog-unreal-tournament-goty.desktop ==> Validating source files with sha256sums... setup_ut_goty.exe ... NOT FOUND OldUnreal-UTPatch-Linux-amd64.tar.bz2 ... Passed gog-unreal-tournament-goty.desktop ... Passed ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
