Yeah HP are putting all their stuff behind paywalls now so it's getting hard to download. If you can find an official link let me know, otherwise you will probably have to find the file on a mirror somewhere and download it manually and put it in the folder with the PKGBUILD.

Oh, not sure how I missed that in the manpage, thanks! Never occurred to me to look in AUR for an ncurses5 package either, my bad. Thanks for your help, hopefully these two issues are fixed now!

Architecture specific arrays are covered in the PKGBUILD man page. Look at the source array section. I assume ncurses5-compat-libs is what you're looking for.

@Scimmia: Updated bsdtar instead of rpmextract, thanks! Can you give an example of architecture specific arrays? I can't find anything in the PKGBUILD docs about arrays for different architectures. Symlinking ncurses is a workaround because it doesn't seem possible to install the old ncurses at the same time as the new one, and I'm not sure how you write a depends line to say you need a version >= 5.0 and < 6.0. If you can advise how to achieve this that would be great!

You should use bsdtar to extract the rpm files instead of the useless rpmextract wrapper. Edit: you should also be using architecture specific arrays instead of case "$CARCH" Edit2: and symlinking different versions of ncurses is a HORRIBLE idea. Depend on the right package in the first place.
