Please consult Signalyst site for more information.

These comments are only for packaging issues.

HQPlayer embedded must be configured with a browser typing ipaddress:8088 where ipaddress is the IP address of the PC where is installed

A readme file is located at /usr/share/doc/hqplayerd/readme.txt.gz

Please give me some more information because I don't understand what you mean. I do NOT use pulseaudio or pipewire, just alsa

What do you mean with player? Is this the client, ie. in my case mconnect ? What configuration file do I have to edit for exclusive acces at ipaddress:8088 ?

In my case: On my arch system the only UPnP device that is active is hqplayerd As DLNA server I use minidlna

HQPlayer and minidlna are started as a systemd service, no problem at all

I use mconnect as client

The moment I start mconnect I See as UPnP Device HQPlayerEmbedded:SignalystHQPlayer5

After selecting this I choose as Local Server: minidlna DLNA Server

As soon I select and try to play a song the time will stay at 00:00 seconds

This player needs to have exclusive access of the sound card, so no other player must be running and possibly no pulseaudio or pipewire active.

The card must be configured with HQPlayer configuration at ipaddress:8088 and be supported by linux, that is should be included in the output of

aplay -l

And after several minutes the following message appears:

ALSA lib control.c:1570:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL null ALSA lib control.c:1570:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL null

HQPlayerd starts but NO SOUND...

After I start a song with mconnect this is the output of hqplayerd

** (process:1785): WARNING **: 13:31:35.501: clPlayerDaemon::OnNameLost() for 'org.mpris.MediaPlayer2.hqplayerd' ** Message: 13:33:38.948: state -> STOPPED ** Message: 13:33:38.973: state -> STOPPED ** Message: 13:33:39.101: uri -> http://192.168.178.20:8200/MediaItems/46.flac ** Message: 13:33:39.101: ...state: STOPPED ** Message: 13:33:39.191: state -> PLAYING ** Message: 13:33:39.951: track id: /com/signalyst/MediaPlayer2/TrackList/00000001 ** Message: 13:33:39.951: metadata: artist='' composer='' performer='' album='' song='' uri='http://192.168.178.20:8200/MediaItems/46.flac'

and then nothing happens

What is going on?

For security reasons because the system is linked to the internet.

Sorry these comments should be used only for package questions... Why you need a read-only system?

fvdb06 commented on 2024-05-10 13:41 (UTC)

I've installed hqplayer-embedded-sse on a arch read-only / system

After I start hqplayerd I get: clFileIO::Open(): open(): Read-only file system

What part of the filesystem must be RW for HQPlayer?
