Seems like there's a new version v15.0.0.103.202208301443 @ https://www.huion.com/dowload/driver-update-log.html

But it is only compatible with a select few new devices, lock the huiontablet package to v15.0.0.89.202205241352 if you're not using one of those I guess.

I'll probably split this package up if more releases like this with different device support continue. (Huion please make this easier for me)

20230204-EDIT: Added v15.0.0.107.202209081050 and v15.0.0.121.202301131103, once again compatibility among devices seems to be iffy, check the driver update log and see which one works best for you. Also god dammit Huion, why are you silently changing peoples wayland sessions to x11, and the script they wrote only works on GDM!!

I have Huion HS64 but the I can't change what the pen buttons do, when I change them in the app nothing actually changes, what can I do to fix this? Running the latest version of the driver.

Fix for not being able to change button or area mapping:

you need to change ownership of the files where it is installed to your user or usergroup

for me that is /usr/lib/huiontablet/*

changing this fixed everything for me, running fine now!

figured this is a permission problem since the program runs in userspace (:

I have HS64 and using v15.0.0.121.202301131103-1 Everything is working perfectly except that I can't change the working area.

Driver is also near completely broken for my Kamvas 13 pro... Tried the latest and 0.89 and I can't remap any buttons, select work areas doesn't do anything (although it does auto map to my primary monitor) and there is no way to calibrate??? How can they claim this as Linux support when it is near useless for a good portion of the userbase...

I've been having this issue in Arch where it won't let me remap which monitor I want. In fact, it doesn't even show any monitors to use. It'll only use my primary monitor.

I have H1161 and using v15.0.0.89 driver, everything works, all buttons, pressure, etc. With v15.0.0.121 it didn't work.

I mad the same experience with the new drivers as Raindrift (no custom buttons). I filed a bug report to Huion and sent several screencasts showing the issue, however they did not accept this to be a bug and closed the bug report. I would not recommend buying a Huion tablet for Linux from this point on. However, I found that the package kcm-wacomtablet brings an extra menu in the KDE settings, which allowed me to map the custom buttons. I get the same experience of my Huion tablet without using this driver here.

Hi, I have the HS610 with the last firmware T194_211220 and with v15.0.0.121 I can't to change button mapping both on tablet and pen. I'm also unable to make any adjustment in size of working area. Pen senitivity and buttons with default key mappimg works OK.

I have the H1161 and tried both the latest version and then v15.0.0.89.202205241352. I was able to get mine recognized by both, however I had trouble with both versions. In both I was unable to change any of the press key mapping, they always stayed at the default. I was also unable to get the scroll up swipe to work (only the scroll down swipe works). The pen sensitivity does work on both..

Basically it is hardly usable (for me), so I'm heading back to opentabletdriver. If anyone else has the same tablet (H1161) and has a solution, I would love to hear it. It was nice to have the sensitivity working and I wanted to use the soft keys (which don't work with the opentabletdriver)

edit: I ended up installing xf86-input-wacom and doing some manual config to bind things - still no soft keys or touch scroll bar, but the sensitivity is working now
