Sure, it's your decision. :)

You can do what you want with it, or you can orphan it and then maybe someone else will volunteer to maintain it.

I appreciate the assistance, but I'm not going to maintain this "-git" package. The release cadence of tags from upstream are enough.

And I also forgot that inside the build() function, this can be removed:

export CGO_LDFLAGS="${LDFLAGS}"

(CGO_LDFLAGS seems to get ignored when also defining the go build -ldflags argument directly. That's why I've changed how go's build flags are configured here.)

Oops, I forgot to change the old depends=(go>=1.5) to depends=(go>=1.17)! ':-)

Hi @howeyc,

I see you've already created a new stable package, ivy-calc. :)

Now I have forked the ivy-git package and created ivy-calc-git and added you as a maintainer. (I don't actually use this application, but wanted to help with the renaming of the VCS package.)

I suggest you please revoke your pending package request for ivy-git and submit a merge request from ivy-git to ivy-calc-git.

That way, earlier comments will be moved to the renamed VCS package page.

I'm willing to take this over and rename to ivy-calc

MarsSeed commented on 2022-04-05 09:36 (UTC)

This should be renamed to something else, like ivy-calc, ivy-lang or ivy-interpreter (and its binary to maybe ivyc, ivylang or ivyi).

Because ivy is an Apache tool for dependency management and has been around since September 2004.

Empty element in Depends field triggers dependency not found during installation with yay. Also package ivy is not the binary version of this package, so the conflicts field is not correct.
